That was a typing error, put in wrong box….I agree with other comments, interesting review and well presented, especially the names of the strokes. Waiting for names of radicals (know them in Japanese, but important to also learn them in Chinese….). Excellent course, as always.
I used my Samsung pen to write on the screen. Otherwise how do I write or type in? I wrote it correctly.
Thanks u ..Lao shi
I know my mistakes to correct effective ways
Soo engaging
Advice me how to write in Chinese for the written number related tests?
你好(Nǐ hǎo)! You could type Chinese characters by using Chinese Pinyin input method. To set up the input method, please check the information below.
USING A MAC
Go to System Preferences
Choose Keyboard
Choose Input Sources
Click +
Select Chinese (Simplified) – Pinyin – Simplified then click Add
Make sure ‘Show Input menu in menu bar’ is checked.
Use the language icon in the menubar at the top to switch modes.
USING WINDOWS
Click on the Windows Start menu button, then click ‘Control Panel’.
Find ‘Clock, Language and Region’ and click on ‘Change keyboards or other input methods’.
Click on ‘Change Keyboards’ (don’t worry you’ll still be able to use your English keyboard!).
Click on add
Scroll down and click the checkbox next to ‘Chinese (Simplified) – Microsoft Pinyin IME’.
Click ok here and in Region and Languages as well.
You can now change to Chinese pinyin entry using the Language Bar in the lower right of your screen
HOW TO TYPE USING PINYIN
To type Chinese, simply select ‘Chinese’ language and then type Pinyin using your keyboard. You’ll be presented with a number of different characters. Select the number of the character/s you want. To input Chinese characters more efficiently, it’s better to type a word, a phrase or even a short sentence at one time instead of typing one character by one character. And it could be easier if you use the keys “Space/Left/Right/Up/Down” to select the characters instead of pressing number keys.
I don’t have pinyin keyboard so I write the pinyin instead of chrachter.
the result was 7/10. but I only got 1 wrong when I viewed the answers. why is that? Am I wrong in putting the character too? please let me know
Nǐ hǎo!
No. 8 and No. 9 you got the characters right, but you added extra spaces between the characters. Please note that Chinese characters do not need spaces between them when you type.
Just let me know if you have any other questions.
Ni3Hao3. I have followed your instruction on how to change to the chinese keyboard with my mac laptop but it didn’t work somehow. Not sure what part I did wrong though.
like your charaters class very much clear and easy to follow. Thank you
May I know how to write pinyin with the tones? I didn’t find it anywhere. I can write second “shí” and fourth “àn”, but I can’t write de first tone “yi” or the third “ni”.
Thanks in advance!
Ouwenya, nǐ hǎo!
